Richard Turner’s loco was placed second in this year’s competition. This loco was built on the Ragleth power unit and is a ‘convertible’ model and may be used as a 1:12 or 1:19 model. It is now a 2-4-0 with tender, a lagged boiler and wrapper, plus various detail parts and working headlamps. When running in 12th scale, it has a leather covered seat and foot well in the tender with scale size figures. The locomotive is fully radio controlled and the bodywork was made from scratch.
When running as a 1:19 loco, the tender fuel is represented as coal, and when in 1:12 it is an oil-burner. The seating and the figures set the scale for the locomotive.
